Who can foster?

Foster Carers can come from any background, culture or religion and must have the personality, commitment and ability to change a child’s life for the better. So whether you are single or married, have any children of your own or not, hold any formal qualifications or not, are looking for career change or are in between work, as long as you are motivated, resilient, and are able to provide unconditional love and support this may be the career for you.

If you can answer yes to the following questions then you can apply to become a foster carer:

Can you provide the care required by a young child/person?

Do you have a spare bedroom?

Do you have good communication skills?

Are you ready for a challenging yet rewarding career?

If you are serious about becoming a foster carer Progress will be on hand to take you through the application and approval process step-by-step.

All applicants will be required to undertake a comprehensive assessment called a Form F assessment. This is completed by a qualified and experienced social work practitioner. This assessment considers the suitability of each applicant to provide the quality support the children require and may take several months to complete.
