What support do I get?

We pride ourselves on the comprehensive support package we offer to each foster carer to help ensure that they can provide the best possible care for the young people they look after.

Our support package includes the following:

24 Hour, 7 Day Support
Constant support is available to carers through the duty and on-call systems, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Supervising Social Worker
You will be allocated an experienced Social Worker who will regularly support, supervise and assist you in the process of looking after the child(ren) placed with you and help develop your Personal Development Plan.

Specialist Advice
Specialist advice from experts in a particular field is available to all foster carers and can be arranged through your Supervising Social Worker, such as therapeutic advice and support, and access to child psychologists.

Monthly Supervision
Supervision meetings with your social worker will allow you to focus on your needs and any training or extra support you may need to fulfill the fostering role.

Respite
All foster carers are entitled to regular in-house respite breaks each year which provides them with a break from their role as carers.

Support Groups
Regular support groups are held giving carers the opportunity to meet, discuss and develop good fostering practice, and to share their views and experiences. These groups provide a good support network for foster carers.

We also offer ongoing training as part of your development, find out what training is available?
