‘Oak Cottage and Regis House’- New services for the new year

From October/November this year, Progress will be launching two new services. The first will take over what is now ‘Oak Cottage’. Oak will be providing a specialist resource for young adults 16-25 with Autism. This living environment will bridge the gap at the difficult transitional stage from child to adult. We will be focusing on providing life skills and readiness for independent living to our young people, through short-medium bespoke care packages.

Our second exciting new project is ‘Regis House.’ Situated in Sandwell, West Midlands, Regis House will provide the short breaks service to children and young people with disabilities, challenging behaviours and complex needs. Our aim is to emphasis on care, activities and lots of fun to the children in our care, while offering parents and carers a break.

Families First Tender

Progress successfully secured a Tender opportunity this summer to provide Coventry City Council with supervised contact workers. We are currently recruiting staff across the West Midlands, for any more information please call head office on 01902561066

Young People's Forum

On 26th October, the children and young people placed with our foster carers were invited to attend an event at Conkers outdoor adventure, in order to have an opportunity to express their views and opinions on what we can be doing better as an agency, for them.  The day was arranged into activities and workshops facilitated by professional trainers, in which the young people could explore various aspects of care, being 'looked after' and what it means to them.

Outcomes from the day include several projects that will be taken forward in the new year, including a newsletter produced by the children and young people.
